Course Overview

This qualification applies to individuals with a sound theoretical knowledge base in marketing and communication and who demonstrate a range of managerial skills to ensure that functions are effectively conducted in an organisation or business area. Typically they would have responsibility for the work of other staff and lead teams.

Target Group

NVR Education welcomes all students who meet our entry requirements. Typically, you are an international student who is:

  • Seeking to pursue a career in marketing and communication management
  • Seeking to enter a new industry sector
  • Seeking a pathway to higher-level qualifications.

Entry
Requirements

The BSB Business Services Training Package requires that students have completed all core units from BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication.

NVR Education also has the following entry requirements:
International students must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have completed BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication or a Statement of Attainment including the 5 Core units of the course
  • Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) or an Australian qualification equivalent to a minimum of Certificate IV level (or a substantial component towards a Certificate IV level)

Course Duration

This qualification will be delivered over 52 weeks, including 36 weeks of training and assessment spread over 6 terms of 6 weeks and 16 weeks of holidays. Class sessions are planned to ensure that students have a mixture of practical and theoretical components and those classes cater for a wide variety of learning styles. Additionally, workplace practices and environments are simulated and used to conduct skills based assessments in accordance with unit requirements.

Delivery mode
and location

Students are required to study for at least 20 hours per week by attending scheduled classes for 14 hours and complete approximately 6 hours of Self-Paced Learning activities per week. Timetable information will be finalised closer to the course start date at Orientation. Students may commence this course at the start of any intake.

During this COVID-19 pandemic we are delivering our courses in a Virtual Learning Environment. This means that the mode of delivery for your course is temporarily online.

Education Pathways

Students who complete this course may wish to further their study into the BSB61315 Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication or a range of Advanced Diploma qualifications.

Course progress

Note that for international students satisfactory course progress is required in order to meet visa requirements. Students who are identified as being at risk of not meeting course progress requirements will be provided with additional support as recorded in an intervention strategy. Enrolment and
Orientation

Upon acceptance of a student’s application for enrolment, a letter of offer and written agreement, will be forwarded to students. Students must read through all provided information as it will provide all necessary information about the course of study. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued once the signed acceptance of the offer and written agreement are received.

Orientation will be provided the week before your course starts. Orientation will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.

Additional Support

All students will be provided with a range of learning support options and resources to help them achieve competency. This includes:

Assessment Arrangements

Assessment methods used for this qualification will provide a range of ways for individuals to demonstrate that they have met the required outcomes including:

  • Projects
  • Presentations
  • Report writing
  • Observations
  • Questioning (oral or written)
  • Role plays
  • Case Studies

At the beginning of each unit, trainers will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.

Course Costs:

The costs for this course are as follows:

  • Enrolment fee: $200 (non-refundable to be paid on application)
  • Course fees: Total cost is AUD $8,000
  • Non-Tuition fees: May apply and can be found in our International Student Handbook at www.nvr.edu.au/policies-and-procedures/

A detailed payment plan and payment arrangements are provided in the letter of offer and written agreement. Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks which are to be purchased at the student’s own cost. Non-payment of course fees may result in cancellation of enrolment.

These textbooks may be purchased by students through Cengage Learning or any other bookshops or online providers that offer these publications. International students are also required to take out Overseas Health Insurance Cover before arriving in Australia. NVR Education provides details of OSHC providers in the International Student Handbook.

Student must also supply their own laptop with appropriate software and access to a fast and stable internet connection.

Enrolment at NVR includes an email account with access to Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams and additional classroom tools).

To study online in a Virtual Learning Environment, students also require a web camera and microphone to participate in their scheduled classes.

Course Credit

Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our International Student Handbook, which is available atwww.nvr.edu.au/policies-and-procedures/.
For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course.
The result of an application for credit and any changes to fees or course duration will be advised to students in writing.

If course credit is granted following issuance of the Confirmation of Enrolment, students will receive a new Confirmation of Enrolment showing a reduced duration.

TRANSITION

This qualification has been superseded. Students enrolled to study or complete their course after the teach-out date will be Transitioned to the new qualification before the end of the transition period (19/04/2022).
