Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level are likely to provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They may also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of teams.

They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Target Group

NVR Education welcomes all students who meet our entry requirements. Typically, you are an international student who is:

• Seeking to pursue a career as a leader or manager
• Seeking to enter a new industry sector
• Seeking a pathway to higher-level qualifications.

Entry
Requirements

International students must

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have successfully completed High School or hold other relevant qualification
• Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old), hold an Australian qualification equivalent to a minimum of Certificate III level (or a substantial component towards a Certificate III level), or have successfully passed NVR’s English Placement Test

Delivery mode
and location

Students are required to study for at least 20 hours per week by attending scheduled classes and completing structured Self-Paced Learning activities each week. Students must also undertake additional research, reading, and practice activities to successfully complete their unit/s of competency.

Timetable information is finalised closer to the course start date at Orientation. Students may commence this course at the start of any intake.

Education Pathways

Students who complete this course may wish to further their study into the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management or a range of Diploma qualifications.

Course Structure

The BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management requires the successful completion of five (5) core units and seven (7) elective units. Electives for this qualification have been chosen by NVR Education to ensure that students achieve a broad range of skills and knowledge in business.

Note that for international students, satisfactory course progress is required in order to meet visa requirements. Students who are identified as being at risk of not meeting course progress requirements will be provided with additional support as recorded in an intervention strategy. Enrolment and
Orientation

Upon acceptance of a student’s application for enrolment, a letter of offer and written agreement, will be forwarded to students. Students must read through all provided information as it will provide all necessary information about the course of study. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued once the signed acceptance of the offer and written agreement are received.

Orientation will be provided the week before your course starts. Orientation will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.

Additional Support

All students will be provided with a range of learning support options and resources to help them achieve competency. This includes:

Assessment Arrangements

Assessment methods used for this qualification will provide a range of ways for individuals to demonstrate that they have met the required outcomes including:

• Projects
• Presentations
• Report writing
• Observations
• Questioning (oral or written)
• Case Studies
• Role Plays

At the beginning of each unit, trainers will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.

Course Costs:

The costs for this course are as follows:

• Enrolment fee: $200 (non-refundable to be paid on application)
• Course fees: Total cost is AUD $8,000

A detailed payment plan and payment arrangements are provided in the letter of offer and written agreement. Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks, which are to be purchased at the student’s own cost. Non-payment of course fees may result in cancellation of enrolment.

These textbooks may be purchased by students through Cengage Learning or any other bookshops or online providers that offer this publication.

Student must also supply their own laptop with appropriate software and access to a fast and stable internet connection.

Enrolment at NVR includes an email account with access to Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams and additional classroom tools).

To study online in a Virtual Learning Environment, students also require a web camera and microphone to participate in their scheduled classes.

International students are also required to take out Overseas Health Insurance Cover before arriving in Australia. NVR Education provides details of OSHC providers in the International Student Handbook.

Course Credit

Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our International Student Handbook, which is available at www.nvr.edu.au/policies-and-procedures.
For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course.
The result of an application for credit and any changes to fees or course duration will be advised to students in writing.

If course credit is granted following issuance of the Confirmation of Enrolment, students will receive a new Confirmation of Enrolment showing a reduced duration.

Selection and
enrolment procedures

Students wishing to enrol, and who meet the entrance requirements of the course, need to complete an Enrolment Form and email to admin@nvr.edu.au, along with the required documentation listed in the Enrolment Form.
